Following the passage of the Illinois Gaming Expansion Bill (SB1849) by the General Assembly the Illinois Revenue & Jobs Alliance released the following statement:
“The Illinois Revenue and Jobs Alliance applauds the leadership and thanks the members of both chambers of the Illinois General Assembly for their action on SB 1849, which was approved by the Illinois Senate late Thursday.
“The Senate has demonstrated with their vote a commitment to job creation and revenue generation. More than 50,000 jobs are impacted by SB 1849, including the 20,451 jobs the bill will create, and the 30,000+ agri-business jobs this legislation saves for Illinois.
“Our leaders in Springfield set out to find more revenue and to find a jobs solution, and SB 1849 does just that. This legislation will generate $200 million in new annual tax revenues and close to $1 billion in licensing fees.”
