Crain’s Chicago Business Poll: 61% Support Illinois Gaming Expansion

Illinois Supports a Gaming Solution Almost 2:1

A poll conducted for Crain’s Chicago by Ipsos and released today (June 25), shows that Illinois residents overwhelmingly support the expansion of gaming, which will bring jobs and revenue to the state.

According to the poll of 545 Illinois adults, 61% of respondents favor a gaming solution that includes new casinos and slot machines at the state’s horse-racing tracks.

“…Survey respondents like the idea of expanded gambling. Sixty-one percent say they favor adding casinos and slot machines at racetracks versus 33 percent who object.”

The Crain’s poll reflects the results of an independent poll conducted for the IRJA months ago that showed 62% of Illinois residents favor a gaming solution called for in SB 1849, which was approved by the Illinois General Assembly last month.
